How I Faked My Death and (Almost) Got Away With It

My first mockumentary

With this film, also made in my sophomore year of high school, I had to make a short film for a grade and I couldn't think of anything to do. I had been rewatching The Office a lot, and one night I decided I wanted to try to make a mockumentary. I used resource filmmaking- everything written into the film was there because I had easy access to it. I could get a Canon t6i with a zoom lens from my film class, I had a boom mic at home, there was a park two blocks away from my home, I had access to a lot of extras, I had been learning After Effects, and my friend Faith (who starred in Second and has had a technical role in every one of my films since) had just got her driver's license, so I wrote all of that into the film. Every character was written to the personality type of someone I knew, because I thought it would help them perform better, and they all excelled in their roles for the most part, especially since most of them were first-time actors. And as with all my other films, I had a great time and even made some new friends.
